Personal Statement |
 |
“Painting has given me a unique sense of myself. I want to share the beauty of living in a tropical climate through my work. With the artists tools of composition, line, shading, color and texture I can lead the viewer to a particular place of my choosing, creating a lot of interest along the way. My representational approach is meant to describe the image well and at the same time
emphasize the elements I prefer to focus on. My hope is that my viewer will enjoy the image I create not just for a moment but also each time they travel through the piece.” |

| Biography |
Kelly Arnold discovered her love of art in high school where she studied under a commercial artist. Her strong attraction to creating images led to taking classes in drawing, color and painting at the University in Maine at Orono. Kelly moved to Florida in 1986 where she worked in the printing industry for 10 years. Her work included all levels of pre-press, computer graphics and management of 7 people in that department.
In 1995, after having done several portrait commissions, Kelly decided to pursue a career as a full-time artist and teacher.
Her classes include a variety of art-related subjects and mediums and students range in age from 5-96.
She uses her enjoyment of painting skin tones with a sense of life, combined with an attraction to the medium of oil that has resulted in an extensive private collection of commissioned work. An ardent attraction to the outdoors has influenced many of Kelly’s portraits; including the series of lotus pads and her recent tropical paintings. A taste for vivid color and a strong sense of composition make her work delightful to view. |

| Commission Information |
 |
| |
Commissions are available for Portraits, Landscapes, Botanicals, Animals,
Ballerinas and Murals.
Paintings are best when the model is available for sittings. This will have to be arranged. In some cases sittings
are not practical and photos have to be used. As the artist it is best for me to take the pictures to insure all
concerns for the final image are met. However in situations where this is not possible, considerations can be made.
The size of the final image and the amount of detail will reflect in the final price of the piece. A final quote can only be given once the design of the painting is agreed upon.
The time line is contingent on the current work scheduled. A schedule for completion can be finalized upon approval of the design.

Giclees
|
(pronounced Gee-Clay)
The gicleé was originally created to provide press proofs to offset lithograph pressmen. Gicleés are best described as mini airbrushes that provide a seamless print. Gicleé is the name given by the industry to encompass the variety of different equipment and inks available. Today the equipment used is the most advanced available. The ink’s durability far exceeds that of fade resistant offset lithographs and any other gicleé inks. They are also waterproof.
The process begins with scanning directly from the original painting. The image is now digitally on the computer. Then the image is color adjusted so it resembles as close as possible the original work of art. The image is then printed onto a canvas with special waterproof inks. Finally a waterproof UV protectant is applied over the canvas. Some images are printed in more than one size. The sizes printed represent the best proportions for the original image. Each image is surface enhanced and signed by Kelly.

Students 5 to 18 years old
Art makes it possible to be more well rounded and think
outside the box, figure things out spatially, create with a sense of
accomplishment and pride, as well as build a portfolio to assist in future plans.
Many of Kelly's students have gone on to college with art scholarships through their chosen school. It may be helpful to know that the Four Art Associations in town also offer scholarships to students.
Art is for everyone! A great
art foundation can help you expand your future while enjoying yourself!
